Organic fertilization and crop load in yield and quality of organic nectarines in Italy

Abstract Organic fertilization in orchards aims at increasing soil fertility, impacting plant productivity and environmental sustainability. This study aimed verifying the effects of organic fruit load on two nectarine cultivars with high low loads. The experiment was carried out an orchard under management Fratta Terme, Po valley, northeastern Italy. Nectarine Big Top Carene, implemented 2017 grafted onto GF677, were used. Three levels compost (0, 20 40 t dw ha-1) combined loads (low high) to set up a factorial experimental design factors four randomized replicates. Compost incorporated cm depth. following parameters evaluated: nitrate- ammonium- N concentrations - depth, macro micronutrients leaves, tree yield, number fruits, mass diameter, soluble solids pulp firmness. supply enhanced nitrate-N release soil. In both cultivars, macro- micronutrient leaves not affected by or load, except for iron, which increased as consequence supply. Low crop induced higher size varieties, fact that observed after pit hardening. However, rate did influence solids.
